“For Significant Contribution to Developing Adult Literacy 2010″

Celebrate Literacy Award recognizes the literacy efforts and contributions made by individuals, clubs, organizations, and businesses in a local reading council’s community.  They are awarded for services and programs that promote and encourage literacy and address the needs of learners at all levels.  The award went to Friends of Duarte Library for their promotion of adult and secondary literacy through library programs, tutorial services and the Festival of Authors. This award was given by California Reading Council and in association with the International Reading Association.  Only one nominee is the recipient for this state-wide recognition.  Congratulations Friends of Duarte Library!
