Friends succeed together! In a time when reading and literacy have become essential, the contribution you make to the Friends of the Duarte Library will directly help to grow and develop a stronger source for information and entertainment at the Duarte Library. Join us as we celebrate our 50th anniversary.

In 2010, the Friends of the Duarte Library:
- Received the Adult Literacy Partnership Award from the International Reading Association for significant contribution in developing adult literacy 2010.
- Received $1,000 matching grant from the County Library Foundation for 2010 Festival of Authors.
- Was honored by the Duarte City Council for the outstanding 2010 Festival of Authors.
- Purchased over $7,000 of new books for the Duarte Library.
- Funded weekly Teen Program needs.
- Updated the rental DVDs monthly.
- Partially funded and assisted the Summer Reading Program at the library.
- Funded $1,500 for two scholarships: to a recipient of each of the Duarte high schools.
- Partnered at Casino Night, a community event and fundraiser.
- Supported community events with our presence and fundraising at the Summer Concerts in the Park, the Route 66 Parade, and the City Picnic.
